Why do we assume that simple is good?
"Because with physical products, we have to feel we can dominate them.
As you bring order to complexity, you find a way to make the product defer to you.
Simplicity isn't just a visual style. It's not just minimalism or the absence of clutter.
It involves digging through the depth of the complexity."
Sir. Jonathan Ive*
Why everything is black and white?
The focus of this project is about
seeing everything in the minimalist perspective
with the title being "Celebration of Steve".
We are currently working on an online exhibition,
a book and an iPad Application.
Are there only eight objects?
No, these are simply teaser images of
the project in celebration of Steve’s birthday.
How many objects are there?
There will be 100 everyday products seen
painted with Jotun's black and white high-gloss paints.
(megayacht paint)
Who is the team?
This project is created by Mehmet Gozetlik.
The Jotun Paints helped us throughout
the painting process and have also shot
a short making-of documentary.
It is photographed by Emre Basak and
programmed by Kadir Yardımcı,
also supported by Benan Kapucu,
Fırat Parlak,
Handan Akbudak,
Hayati Senturk,
Zekai Demir.
What is the missing part?
We are actively looking for both a curator
with a thorough knowledge of design exhibition and
a sponsor for the remainder of the project.
How can you participate?
This exhibition was created by a small team
of individuals as a not-for-profit project.
If you would like to join ”Celebration of Steve”
you can follow us on Twitter and/or send
an object suggestion.
All participant's names will appear in the
book as a supporter. We encourage you to
please help us spread the word!
Happy Birthday Steve!
Thanks for bring your vision to the world.
One more thing...
